We prioritize reducing the environmental impact in all of our operations, focusing especially on minimizing unnecessary resource consumption.

Gemidan is certified with ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management, and ISCC EU certification (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification).
These certifications are an integral part of our quality and environmental management system.

Madaffald i dag, ressourcer i morgen

Our work focuses on ensuring that as much organic waste as possible is not sent to incineration, but instead is recirculated. The municipal food waste we process is ISCC certified, an international standard. Thanks to this certification, we are able to sell a biopulp with a sustainability certificate and traceability.

Everyday goals

At Gemidan A/S, the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have always been a priority, and they are now even more clearly integrated into our operations. While we focus on all 17 goals, we place particular emphasis on three key objectives. It is always a priority for us to reduce environmental impact in the areas where it matters most, with a strong focus on adhering to current legislation and minimizing resource consumption.

The Gemidan Group serves utility companies and businesses within the waste management sector. We aim to build and maintain strong customer relationships by helping our clients maximize the value of their waste. We do this by offering high-quality, flexible services, taking responsibility for the agreements we make, and ensuring the actions we take align with our commitments.

Qualified Environmental Advice

At Gemidan, we are a responsible company with a strong focus on environmentally-friendly solutions, benefiting our customers.
We provide expert advice on resource optimization opportunities, offering fast customer service and highlighting the potential of waste resource utilization. While we comply with all relevant regulations and laws, we go beyond the minimum requirements by further reducing environmental impact wherever possible, as long as it is commercially feasible.

Our employees are well-qualified and motivated to be environmentally conscious and to avoid unnecessary resource consumption. Environmental considerations are taken into account in our investment decisions as well.
Our certifications are an integral part of our company’s framework and standards, ensuring that Gemidan and its subsidiaries maintain credibility and responsibility in all actions.

Gemidan and its affiliated companies are approved in the waste register as:
• Collector with pre-treatment
• Transporter
• Exporter and importer of goods to/from countries outside the EU
• Broker
• Recyclers

The Ecogi pre-treatment plants are registered with the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration for receiving and processing animal by-products and introducing category 3 material (previous food products) from Sweden, Germany, and Norway.

Environmental Investments: The Hidden Product Quality

At Gemidan, we strive to maintain an active and transparent approach with both our partners and customers.

We believe that environmental arguments can be highly relevant and advantageous in a sales context. However, we’ve found that these factors often don’t receive the attention they deserve during buying or selling discussions.

As a result, one of our key objectives is to raise awareness about the hidden environmental quality of our products and services.
We aim to do this by highlighting opportunities in environmental consulting for our customers, such as:

  • Focusing on advising customers to help them understand the potential of their waste.
  • Offering fast customer service—quick action on problems means minimizing mistakes and waste, leading to higher resource optimization for the customer.
  • Focusing on activities that have a significant environmental impact, such as solar panel systems, water collection, and recycling, with the goal of reducing environmental burdens and improving environmental conditions beyond the legal requirements.
